Follow our step-by-step methodology

This methodology builds on our experience in scouting social enterprises for social procurement partnerships. Together with local and regional ecosystem players, we mapped 500+ social enterprises - all eligible for tailored support, capacity-building and networking opportunities. Do you want to get started implementing partnerships in your country? Follow these simple four steps.

Step 1: Scout social enterprises

Identify social enterprises in your country and get an understanding of their business maturity, offerings, and social or environmental impact. You can leverage our Mapping Survey template as a foundation, adapting it to your market context and definitions to ensure relevance.

Step 2: Screen and select enterprises

After launching an open call to social enterprises interested in B2B, review and shortlist enterprises that meet your selection criteria. Focus on two key factors: (1) alignment with your social enterprise definition and (2) the suitability of their offering for corporate clients.

Step 3: Assess their corporate readiness

Evaluate the selected enterprises using a corporate readiness scorecard to determine their capacity to engage with corporate clients. Our scorecard is based on a set of financial and business maturity indicators.

Step 4: Develop social procurement programmes

Based on your analysis, collaborate with your team to design the most effective support initiatives for the social enterprises. This could include match-making events, capacity-building programs, or other interventions that strengthen their ability to succeed in social procurement. Be creative - everything’s possible!
